Thanksgiving
2011
Or perfect climbing tree?
Thanksgiving is one of those holidays that I have a hard time getting in the spirit of. Instead of being all BA-Humbug! about the whole thing I suggested to my family that we use the day as a rare opportunity to get dressed up and have dinner with friends. We met our dear friends the Cuellars and the Stamatopoulos' on the shores of Lady Bird Lake for dinner and frolicking in the beautiful 72 degree weather.
We were the first to arrive so we went to explore while we waited for everyone else to get there. Who could resist such a perfect "tight-rope"?
Or perfect climbing tree?
Or perfect picture spot with such a perfect dad?
I love that kid and the beautiful ladies at his left.
You can't get this crowd together with out someone acting a fool.
Meet our friend Jessica. Chronic photo bomber.
Monty and I were going for something like this.
Instead we got this. We never did get that perfect, smiling couple picture together. Although I will say, Monty took it more seriously than I did and I kinda like ours better :)

After we said our goodbyes to Jessica, Thom and their son Jacob we headed down to the lake...
.
to see what our friend Sebastian (tall one on the right) was up to. Sebastian is an avid fisherman. He sold his X-Box to buy a canoe so he can go fish before school. He even brought his fishing pole to dinner, just in case. Once we were done eating he took Austin down to the shore to partake in his favorite pastime and maybe show Austin a thing or two.
Austin, Olivia, Caleb and Sebastian.

I'll end our story here with the kids happily climbing a tree together.
Today I am grateful for friends that feel like family.
