Second Chances

Unschooling has given me a second chance to be the mom I always wanted to be. It's given me a second chance to see the value in getting down and playing with Austin. 

To build castles and pirate ships,  Lego cities and nerd armies.

To be goofy and silly and get into character while holding a tiny, little MiniMate.

I've been given a second change to see that a clean house is not the most important thing in the world.  It's OK if I leave things where they are before we move on to the next thing.

I can laugh now when my floors are sticky and rejoice in "I'm THAT mom!!"  I get it now.

Unschooling has given me a second chance to be creative. I've re-discovered coloring! It feels good and meditative to sit and color! All this play I do on a daily basis is restorative. 

I've gotten a second chance.
