Fun Time Bath Time

Austin  isn't a big fan of bathing. So, I try to keep my eye open for things that will make taking a bath more fun. When I came across this gem on Pinterest I pinned it and waited for an opportunity to suggest it.  That time came last night.

We mixed up white shaving cream with food coloring and prepared for a fun bath experience.  In MY girlie brain I am thinking we'll paint some flowers, maybe a tree, OH! Maybe we can mix the colors and make a rainbow on the mirror behind bathtub! Eeek! Clearly, I was thinking about ME and not Austin when these plans were going through my head.

I forgot how much red food coloring looks like blood and how much fun it is for Austin to make himself look like he has been in a battle.

So the bath experience went from cutesy to bloody and gory in the blink of an eye.  Austin created his epic battle bath scene, which, he titled Bloody Sunday where he was attacked with toxic green sludge...

there was a mysterious blue eye-browed, bad guy,

and lots and lots of blood.

This is what a fun bath looks like when it's all said and done to my sweet and imaginative 10 year old boy.

Yes, it was messy.  Yes, it took some effort to clean up, but really Austin had so much fun doing it that those were minor details.
