Backyard In Bloom
2013
This past week the backyard has bloomed in sync. What was looking rather barren and boring has exploded into color and fragrance and fruit! It's all a mystery to me though because I didn't plant a single seed here.
I am so curious what these will be. They are hard as a rock, so it's too soon to tell. Orange? Tangerine?
These are everywhere in the neighborhood. What could they be?
Growing on a vine.
This thing is kind of a show off; all bright and loud. Do you see that in the background though? Behind the lemon? I think that's a lime!
Awe, Suzi.
Also these...what are they? Is it Malecula?
I was told there is a plum tree in the back. Is that a plum blossom? Peach? Damnit! What is it?
Pretty sure that IS a tangerine. It's also hard as a rock, but the shape is right.
Uh, see! Bossy!
Oh, the smell of these. Divine. The whole backyard smells so lovely now that they've started to blossom.
And last but not least, this thing. It's growing out of some sort of succulent. Alien looking, right.
*If you have any idea what some of this stuff is, please let me know. And if you know of a good planting guide, bug book, backyard wildlife book for Northern California, please share that info also.
